      What is the Borderlands Collector’s Box with Golden Key? 

      The Borderlands Collector’s Box is a limited-edition G FUEL bundle created in collaboration with Borderlands 4. Each box includes exclusive themed items plus a Golden Key code to unlock loot inside Borderlands 4. 


      What comes inside the Collector’s Box?

      Each Borderlands Collector’s Box includes:

      What is a Golden Key?       

      A Golden Key is an in-game reward in Borderlands 4. Golden Keys unlock the Golden Chest located in Sanctuary, giving you access to loot! More info: Gearbox Support – Golden Keys. 


      What is a SHiFT Code? 

      SHiFT Codes are special codes you can redeem with your free SHiFT Account. They grant in-game rewards in Borderlands 4, including Golden Keys that unlock the Golden Chest for loot. 


      How do I redeem my SHiFT Code for a Golden Key? 

      To redeem your Golden Key: 

      1. Create a free SHiFT Account at shift.gearboxsoftware.com (if you don’t already have one). 

      1. Link your gaming platform (PlayStation, Xbox, or PC) to your SHiFT Account. 

      1. Redeem your Golden Key SHiFT Code either: 

        • In the Rewards section of the SHiFT website, OR 

        • In the in-game SHiFT menu under “Social” in Borderlands 4. 

      1. Your Golden Key will automatically be delivered to your in-game mail and can be used to open the Golden Chest. 


      How many Golden Keys can I redeem with this box?

      Since this item is a pre-order, each Collector’s Box Order will include 1 Golden Key code that will be received via the email you ordered with. You are limited to one code per customer. Email will be sent including code within 24 hours of purchase.  


      Do I need to own Borderlands 4 to use the Golden Key?

      Yes. A copy of Borderlands 4 (available September 12, 2025) is required to redeem and use the Golden Key. 


      Do I need a SHiFT Account? 

      Yes. SHiFT Accounts are free and required to redeem SHiFT Codes, including the Golden Key included in this Collector’s Box. 


      When does the Golden Key code expire? 

      Your SHiFT Code must be redeemed in Borderlands 4 before 11:59 PM PT on December 31, 2030. After that, it will no longer be valid. 


      Q: Are there any restrictions? 

      Yes: 

      • Limit one code per customer. 

      • Available to US customers only. 

      • Requires Borderlands 4 and a free SHiFT Account. 

      • Terms and conditions apply. 

      • Redeemed SHiFT Codes: If the SHiFT code included with your preorder box has been redeemed, the purchase is considered final, and no refunds or exchanges will be permitted. The redemption of the SHiFT code activates in-game content (Golden Keys) that cannot be revoked or transferred, rendering the purchase non-refundable.
