Knuckles Doesn't Chuckle Nor Does His Flavor Fizzle
The greatest crime against GFUEL that I feel I have committed is that I left this tub sitting on my shelf for over a month untouched. I snagged it as part of the Halloween BOGO because I thought it might fit the other candy flavors, but my expectations were nothing more than a bland, generic candy flavor. I couldn't have been more further wrong as this flavor absolutely nails my top sour flavor from GFUEL.
So with that being said, what is it about Sour Power that hits perfectly for me as a sour flavor? When compared to Red Ooze and Sour Blue Chug, Sour Power doesn't go beyond those two as a sour drink and I would argue those are the most sour GFUEL flavors (from what I've tried.) However, what this flavor lacks in raw sourness it makes up for with a bold flavor; you taste exactly what this flavor was going for, an artificial raspberry candy. It's not overly sweet nor tart; you get an in-your-face raspberry flavor. (If you've had Raspberry Ice Tea, the smell here is exactly the same with a raspberry jam.) Interestingly enough, this is the kind of raspberry flavor I thought I would get from Hype Sauce, which I had tried earlier that same day, and the difference was staggering. I would say that Raspberry Iced Tea is much closer to this flavor in taste minus the tea-bitterness.
Now, this flavor works so well in its simplicity that I don't know if I can say anything more. I would rank this more so as a flavorful, tart delight than an overly sour drink meant to melt your…
