How to Enter GTA 5 Cheat Codes

The method depends on your platform:
PlayStation (PS4/PS5): Enter button combinations during active gameplay. No pausing required. A small confirmation notification will appear on the screen after correct input.
Xbox (One/Series X|S): Same as PlayStation. Enter button sequences in real time during gameplay without pausing.
PC: Press the tilde key (~) to open the console, then type the cheat command. Alternatively, use your in-game phone and dial the 1-999 phone numbers listed below.
In-Game Phone (All Platforms): Press up on the D-pad to bring up the phone, access the dial pad, and enter the number. A confirmation message appears once the cheat activates.
One important note: activating any cheat disables trophies and achievements for that session. Save your game in a separate slot before using it. Cheats do not carry over between sessions, so re-enter them each time you load in.
Cheat codes only work in single-player Story Mode. GTA Online disables all cheats across all platforms.

Tips for Using GTA 5 Cheats

Save before you cheat. Trophies and achievements are disabled for the current session once a cheat is activated. Save in a separate slot beforehand to preserve your progress.
Invincibility resets after five minutes. Re-enter the code to maintain coverage. There is no way to make it permanent.
Slow Motion Aim and Slow Motion each require three inputs for full effect. Entering them once applies a partial effect, twice increases it, and three times maxes it out.
Change Weather cycles through options. Enter the weather cheat multiple times to toggle through rain, clouds, clear days, and snow.
You can spawn multiple vehicles at once. Unlike some older GTA titles, GTA 5 does not despawn a previously cheated vehicle when you spawn a new one.
No money cheat exists. Rockstar did not include a money cheat for GTA 5 in either single-player or GTA Online.
Director Mode is a cheat-free alternative. On PC, press M to open the Interaction menu during Story Mode and select Director Mode. On PlayStation, hold the Touchpad. On Xbox, hold the View button. Director Mode lets you toggle invincibility, weather, and other settings without affecting your save file.
