BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles 2019 Preview And FREE Tickets Giveaway
The BLAST Pro Series will once again take center stage as some of the best CSGO teams in the world do battle in Los Angeles from July 13-14. Six teams will compete to win their share of the $250,000 prize pool with the winners walking away $125,000 richer.
Who Is Competing At BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles?
Six teams will be competing at BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles in The Buttercup in LA this weekend, four of which were circuit invites while two were wild cards. The four circuit invite teams are FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, Cloud9, and MIBR. The two wild card teams entering the fray are NRG Esports and Renegades.
Team Liquid enters the event as the top CSGO squad on the planet. The North American team is coming off a victory at ESL Cologne last week, also winning the Intel Grand Slam.
However, the field in Los Angeles is absolutely staked with top tier teams who could easily be the last team standing. Team Liquid, FaZe Clan, MIRB, NRG Esports, and Renegades are all ranked within the top 20 teams in the world with Cloud9 being the only team in the field that would illicit shock if they won it all.
FaZe Clan At BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles
The G FUEL-sponsored FaZe Clan enters BLAST Pro Series LA coming off some solid outings. FaZe came 5-6th at ESL One Cologne this past weekend and finished 3rd-4th at Dreamhack Masters Dallas.
Both of those finishes are encouraging considering they came with new in-game leader Filip “NEO” Kubuski at the helm. The Polish player was brought onto the FaZe Clan roster to bring a strong voice and shot-calling in-game. Nikola “NiKo” Kovac had occupied that spot for the squad for the months prior following the departure of Finn “karrigan” Andersen but the role did not play to NiKo’s strengths.
NEO has been able to step in and, rather quickly, get FaZe Clan moving in the right direction. There is still obviously growth to do with the new in-game leader and his teammates, but we have seen the flashes of excellence already that FaZe Clan can offer with this new lineup.
FaZe Clan is also looking for their second victory of the BLAST Pro Series 2019 after the squad won in Miami in April. In that Grand Finals, NiKo had an MVP-worthy performance with 47 kills to 25 deaths across both Mirage and Dust2.
How Does BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles Work?
BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles works similarly to other BLAST Pro Series events in the past. The Group Stage is a single round-robin format with each team facing off against one another once. Each of these Group Stage contests will be best-of-1s.
After the Group Stage, the top two teams will move onto the Grand Final. The Grand Final is a simple single-elimination format with each series being a best-of-3. Unlike other tournament formats, the Grand Final will remain under the same BO3 format instead of changing to a BO5.
