13 E3 Games That G FUEL Influencers Are Itching To Play

13 E3 Games That G FUEL Influencers Are Itching To Play

The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is a focal point each year for studios to release more information about their upcoming video game titles. From setting release dates to debuting new trailers, from announcing new titles to demoing gameplay, E3 is a hub of fresh video game news.

Before E3, we spoke with several G FUEL influencers about the games they’re most looking forward to checking out while they attend the event. At E3, we were able to catch up with most of them (maybe next time, GnarlyRita!) to see whether the games lived up to the hype!

“Some games I’m looking forward to checking out during E3 are: Apex Legends, Fortnite on PC because they’re both fun BR games to stream and play with my viewers. Some games I’d like to check out for the first time based off trailers I’ve seen are: Catherine Full Body, Dying Light, and Lost Words Beyond The Page - because I like storyline based games.”

Released in Japan on February 14th, 2019, Catherine: Full Body will debut on the PlayStation 4 in a port for Western audiences on September 3rd.

The game is a re-release of an earlier PlayStation 3 title, but based on the Japanese version, it’s more of a re-imaging with a huge expansion on the original title’s story about a love triangle.

Developer Atlus is hosting a Catherine-themed exclusive event at E3 where they promise a “surprise announcement” directly related to the game.

Dying Light 2 is the sequel to the impressive open world, zombie-themed Dying Light from developer Techland. The original melded parkour with quick-moving zombies to build in-game tension, alongside a compelling story.

The developer has been teasing Dying Light 2 in the days heading into E3. The game map will be four times the size of the original game’s, player choices will have a direct impact on the environment, and Techland has tweeted, “In a single #DyingLight2 playthrough you could see less than half of the game.“

With Square Enix signing on to distribute the game in the Americas, tune into their press conference June 10th for more Dying Light details.

Lost Words: Beyond The Page is another story-rich game. It uses 2D platforming and the power of words to explore an emotional narrative that unfolds in a young girl’s diary. The game has been receiving awards since 2016, and its release is eagerly anticipated.

This charming title will be on display at the Modus Games Booth at E3.

“The games that I am most excited about are: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and The Last Of Us Part 2. I am interested in getting to see more information about COD MW because it's what I grew my channel on back in the day, and it finally looks like we might be going back to the old style of gameplay. Now The Last Of Us 2 is just a remarkable franchise that I would love to hear more info on.”

A reboot of 2007’s popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was announced by Activision and developer Infinity Ward on May 30th. The game will be a modernized, darker take on the original using a new engine that will bring photo-realism to the Call of Duty franchise.

Though there will be a single-player storyline and new co-op options, it’s the multiplayer competitive options that are sure to delight Call of Duty fans.

It’s slated to release on October 25, 2019, with pre-orders open now. This is the only title that Activision has confirmed they will show at E3 and it’s bada**. Expect crowds lined up to check out the gameplay and bask in the re-vamped fan-favorite title.

Naughty Dog announced The Last of Us Part II in 2016 and the last solid news we got about the title came at least year’s E3. As a PlayStation 4 exclusive, the title likely won’t be on display at E3 because Sony isn’t attending.

However, there’s no reason to think we won’t get news of a release date any day now, especially as there’s an expectation the game could be released in late 2019 or early 2020.

ElectricShock chatted with us at E3 about the importance of seeing gameplay at the game presentations he was able to catch:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Watch Dogs: Legion were both big hits at the event!

“I'm highly interested in Death Stranding, I love the look of the game, as well as the concept that we have become used to living in isolation. It truly incorporates today's social troubles.”

Death Stranding made headlines last month when the PlayStation 4 exclusive title published this game trailer including its release date of November 8, 2019:

The concept of the game hinges on the idea of isolation. In the game, people have walled themselves off from each other. The player’s goal is to reconnect society.

The game has a cinematic quality to it in both story and visuals. The release date trailer gave us a good look at the character acting provided by the large cast, including Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Lindsay Wagner, Margaret Qualley, Tommie Earl Jenkins, Troy Baker, and Léa Seydoux.

The trailer also provides a strong sense of the underlying philosophy of the game:

People need to connect, need to come together.

Director Hideo Kojima has gone on record as suggesting this game opens up a new genre of video game, writing on Twitter, “DS is not a stealth game. Could move subjectively but not a FPS shooting game either. By incorporating with the concept of connection(strand), it's totally brand new genre called action game/strand game(social strand system).”

At E3, CuteNoob talked with us about her impressions of Borderlands 3 (Death Stranding wasn't at E3), the much-anticipated next title in Gearbox’s Borderlands series.

Borderlands 3 is scheduled for release on September 13, 2019.

“The games I'm most looking forward to are Code Vein due to it having a very anime feel, Borderlands 3 because of the ridiculous gun abilities, whatever Ubisoft is announcing regarding Watch Dogs Legion & Cyberpunk 2077 because Cyberpunk 2077!”

Code Vein, brought us to by Bandai Namco Entertainment, is an action-RPG featuring a post-apocalyptic dystopia filled with vampiric entities: the Revenants and the Lost. With an anime aesthetic, the game features dungeon crawls and multiplayer action.

Now remember folks:

G FUEL is debuting our new Code Vein Type-O flavor at E3 Booth 4144!

There, you can sample and buy a limited supply of Type-O G FUEL, and play Code Vein on PS4.

Announced at PAX East 2019, Borderlands 3 returns players to the Borderlands universe for more gun-collecting action with four new Vault Hunters. Plenty of familiar faces are back, including Moxxi, Tiny Tina, Ellie, Sir Hammerlock, Claptrap, and many others.

This time, action will take place across multiple planets with Sanctuary 3 acting as your base (and spaceship). This one feels like an auto-buy if you’re a franchise-fan.

The game releases September 19, 2019, as an Epic Store exclusive until April 2020. Gearbox has tweeted about their E3 plans, including gameplay for Moze (one of the new Vault Hunters), a new planet, and some surprises:

Ubisoft only recently officially unveiled Watch Dogs Legion in a tweet on June 4th:

Ubisoft intends to reveal more details about the third game in the Watch Dogs series at E3. Right now, all we know is that the game will be set in London, taking players out of the United States for the first time. Expect this game to feature heavily in Ubisoft’s press conference on Monday, June 10th starting at 1 PM PT.

CD Projekt Red will be showcasing Cyberpunk 2077 at E3, though the game won’t be available to demo quite yet. Slated to be an open-world RPG adapted from the tabletop game Cyberpunk 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 was originally announced back in 2012.

CD Projekt Red is also behind the popular Witcher series. The studio’s been very open about discussing how the scope of that franchise has influenced and informed their development of Cyberpunk 2077.

Fingers crossed the team will announce a release date at E3 this year.

(Spoiler alert: they did)

Not only did we talk to Deejay Knight about his impressions of all the titles he was excited to check out, but he also had the pleasure of taste-testing G FUEL Type O on camera!
