World of Warcraft MDI Global Finals and AWC 2019 Results

In 2017 it was announced that World of Warcraft had earned over $9 billion in revenue, marking it one of the highest-grossing video games of all time. With eight different expansions, there is virtually no shortage of content for WoW players as there are millions of players who play each day across the world.

BlizzCon 2019 features a $660,000 prize pool for WoW Esports, meaning the Mythic Dungeon International (MDI) Global Finals and Arena World Championship (AWC) would each have a $330,000 pool. Both tournaments kicked off on Friday, November 1 with the AWC concluding on Saturday, November 2.

The Mythic Dungeon International has the best Mythic Dungeon teams from across the world compete to take home the title of champions. The top six teams walked away with cash from the $330,000 prize pool, a combination of funds directly from Blizzard and special in-game community items.

With the MDI marking the end of the 2019 season, the winner would walk away with the last word for the year. The pressure was on as two different teams for Method, a European and North American squad, fought through the bracket. Method is considered the best organization in all of WoW.

Method NA was able to smack down Team D and Abrakeydabra with swift 2-0 defeats. The upper-semi match between Method NA and Method EU was taken to three games, but NA walked away with the victory sending their European associates to the lower bracket. Method EU was able to fight through the lower bracket with three 2-0 victories to meet their NA counterparts again in a best-of-five Grand Final.

Method EU was able to use their victorious momentum to push them forward to a 3-0 sweep over Method NA to earn the crown of MDI Champs.

WoW AWC 2019 Results

Online tournaments have been taking place all over the world to seek the top competitors in WoW’s Arena. These events did not have a requirement, meaning any player could rise to the top. In the end, there were only eight teams left that proved to be the best on the planet.

Method Black, Wild Card Gaming, Aztech, The Gosu Crew, Cloud9, Unitas White, Unitas Blue, and Time to Take Medicine would face off to determine the best team after a yearlong marathon to conclude at BlizzCon 2019.
